Kathleen Stone represents
companies and individuals when they confront legal issues in
their businesses. Some problems can be resolved by
adaptation and creative thinking within the organization;
others require litigation. Kathleen guides her clients to
recognize and address issues at both ends of the spectrum,
and to execute strategies that achieve their business goals.
Kathleen provides her clients with the benefit of extensive
experience. She began her legal career as law clerk to the
Honorable T.F. Gilroy Daly of the United States District
Court for the District of Connecticut. She entered private
practice with the 140 lawyer firm of Robinson & Cole where
she handled a variety of business litigation and commercial
workout matters and was elected partner in 1989. In 1991
Kathleen pursued the unique opportunity to help dispose of
the nearly $7 billion commercial loan portfolio of the
insolvent Bank of New England by becoming senior counsel and
group leader in the law department of Recoll Management
Corporation, a Fleet Financial Group subsidiary. In 1995
Kathleen re-entered private practice and continues to
litigate and advise on commercial and employment issues
affecting financial institutions, businesses and
individuals.
Kathleen practices in federal and state courts, and appears
before mediators and arbitrators. She earned her J.D. at
Boston University School of Law in 1980 and is admitted to
the bars of Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut and Rhode
Island. She has received an
AV rating from her peers, the highest rating a lawyer
can achieve for legal skill and ethical standards. |
